Workplace Assessments

When an employee is experiencing difficulty working following an injury or due to discomfort or disability a workplace assessment will help to identify areas of difficulty and may provide:

• Practical advice, for example being shown how to do an activity in a different way
• Recommendations for equipment, for example a chair with a more supportive backrest
• Recommendations for modifications, for example reducing the height of a shelf, or fitting another banister rail on a staircase to make access to the workplace easier

A survey of the working environment and the workforce can also be provided to identify any employees who are experiencing difficulty carrying out their work due to disability, or discomfort or who may be at risk of developing discomfort.

A report will be provided which includes details about the assessment and any recommendations.

Although changes to the working environment, the work activity or a need for equipment may be identified, solutions which assist in promoting a healthy workforce and working environment are ultimately cost effective.
